Draw Position 7, Final Position 8, Points (Final) 69

"Sokrati" (Greek script: "Σωκράτη", English translation: "Socrates") was the Greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979, performed in Greek by Elpida.

At the close of voting, it had received 69 points, placing 8th in a field of 19.

The song is in praise of the philosopher Socrates, who is likened to a "superstar" in the lyrics. Mention is made of his trial and forced suicide, linking the Athenian citizens to Pontius Pilate, as a reference to them doing nothing to prevent his death.
