Tie Break Du Bist
"Du bist" ("You are") was the Austrian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, performed in German by Tie Break. It was the only song in the Austrian semi-finals of this year to be sung in German.
The song proved slightly controversial before the Contest, with former entrants Waterloo & Robinson (the band which finished second in Austria's qualification system) protesting as the song was longer than the legal 3 minutes (the CD version is clocked at between 3:09 and 3:11, depending on the player). The protest was not upheld, and Tie Break represented Austria.
The song itself is a boy band ballad, with the singers describing the various qualities of their lovers.Although the song did not do well in the final it peaked at #44 on the Austrian Singles Chart and it remained there for ten weeks.
